A standard size 5 FIFA soccer ball is hand-sewn using 690 stitches tied at a tension of up to 40 kg.

An estimated 7000 children aged 5 to 14 work full-time stitching sports balls in Pakistan to supplement their families’ income either in bonded labour or at home.

Under International Fair Trade Standards, forced labour of children under 15 is prohibited. Children aged 15 & older cannot do work that compromises their health or education.
